Pine needle tea is made from (surprise!) pine trees. A cup of pine needle tea contains 5 times the Vitamin C of a cup of orange juice, and is also high in Vitamin A. Pine needle tea may help your body expel phlegm caused by the congestion of colds or coughs and even just inhaling the vapours from the tea may break up mucus in the lungs. The tea has a pleasant smell and taste. This tea is so mild and originally sweet that you may not need sugar. It can be taken with sugar, honey, and even peppermint.

There is over 30 common species of pine in North America, though not all are great candidates for pine needle tea so please make sure that you know which ones you can use.
