Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Workstation: Set up a clean and organized workspace. Ensure all utensils and containers are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  2. Double Boiler Setup: Fill a pot with a couple of inches of water and bring it to a simmer. Place a heat-resistant bowl on top of the pot to create a double boiler.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Add coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax to the heat-resistant bowl. Allow the ingredients to melt slowly, stirring occasionally to ensure even melting.
  4. Incorporate Essential Oils: Once the mixture is fully melted, add drops of your preferred essential oils. Peppermint provides a refreshing sensation, lavender offers a soothing aroma, while citrus oils can add a hint of brightness. Adjust the number of drops based on your preference, but start with around 10 drops and adjust as needed.
  5. Mix Thoroughly: Stir the mixture thoroughly to evenly distribute the essential oils. This step is crucial for ensuring that your homemade chapstick has a consistent texture and fragrance.
  6. Pour Into Containers: Carefully pour the melted mixture into chapstick containers or your chosen container. Work quickly, as the mixture may begin to solidify as it cools.
  7. Allow to Cool: Let the chapsticks cool and solidify at room temperature. This process usually takes about 10-15 minutes.
  8. Label and Store: Once your homemade chapsticks have solidified, label them if desired, and store them in a cool, dry place. They should remain fresh for several months.
