I guess it doesn’t really have to be maple syrup. It can be any type of syrup you can get from a tree, but not all are edible… and they definitely don’t all taste good. You’ll need a maple or birch tree if you plan on making your own maple syrup.

A pot and a few other supplies, like jars for one, are all necessary as well.Maple syrup is often eaten with pancakes, waffles,  French toast, or oatmeal and porridge. It is also used as an ingredient in baking, and as a sweetener or flavoring agent. The more experience you can get in making/hunting/foraging for your own food the more thriving and the less surviving you’ll be doing if things ever get as bad as some think they might get
